The files we back up to can be stored uncompressed or compressed and encrypted in Zip, Zip64 or 7z format. This means that if your system or the application crashes, or something else goes wrong, that database won't ever get updated, and KLS Backup will have no idea that any files at all were uploaded.KLS Backup is a powerful tool that will allow us to do backup copies and synchronize our data. And when you're backing up to FTP, KLS Backup does not update its local database (to keep track of which files have been uploaded to the FTP server) until the entire process is complete. FTP servers are computers too, and things happen. I asked the author to consider adding this feature, and the response I got was (literally) "If the backup was successful, the files are on the FTP server." But, uhh. And remember, KLS Backup cannot compare the source and the FTP, so you'll have fun dealing with that little mess! The fatal flaw, for me, is that if you backup to FTP, it is totally incapable of comparing the contents of the backup source to that of the FTP server. This software has a nice interface and (for the most part) a nice feature set.
